According to GIMS policies, editors are allowed to publish articles in their own journal. To avoid any potential conflicts of interest, editors must recuse themselves from the editorial decision-making process when they submit a manuscript for publication. Therefore, another editor or reviewer should handle the manuscript and make decisions about whether it should be published or not. Moreover, they should clearly state any potential conflicts of interest in the article itself.
